The position
As a front-end Java developer at Virgil, you will primarily write code for user interfaces and UI components. Some of your work will be for Virgil’s own product portfolio, and some of it will involve customizations for specific clients. In our front-ends, we primarily use Java and JSP, mostly in a WebSphere Portal environment, although we occasionally also work with Servlets. We might ask you to write specifications, designs, test plans and documentation and assist in dealing with support requests from customers. Most of the work will take place at the Virgil office in Amsterdam, but for some tasks (especially support requests), it may be necessary to visit Virgil customers on location.

The position
As a JavaScript specialist at Virgil, you will write JavaScript code for AJAX/Comet-based user interfaces and UI components. Some of your work will be aimed at improving and extending Virgil’s products and some of it will involve customizations for specific customers.
